Hi sweeties,

Another seriously belated post! I'm still on autumn whilst everyone else appears to be buried under six feet of snow. That said, I love autumn so I'm not in any rush to jump straight into darkest winter, and it's so mild here in Ireland I can't believe that Christmas is just around the corner.
Here I am, taking a little autumn stroll wearing UFO's cute ponpon cape coat. My home is looking beautiful with all the lovely autumn colours thanks to Alex Bader's awesome enchanted tree tunnel and enchanted woods - another reason I'm reluctant to have a winter makeover. I intend to do a home and garden post soon to show you my autumn home before I do get all set up for winter and Christmas.

Hi sweeties,

Well, I intended these pics to be out for Halloween but, as usual, RL has been keeping me busy so they're a few days after the event :-P.  I had so much fun putting together this look - it was awesome being all gothic and witchy. I really enjoyed being able to go to town with the sparkly effects during editing too, and I love the way the pics have turned out. 

This dress from Fellini Couture is amazing. It's the first time I've shopped at the store but I'll definitely be back when I'm looking for a glamorous gown. Glam Affair treated us to a cute Halloween skin and don't even get me started on the awesomeness of this head dress. There's been so much cute Halloween stuff around recently I'm already planning another spooky post soon...

Do not disturb....

Hey peeps,

Oo, what is naughty Ophelia up to, hanging around in a hotel room in her smalls? Is she having a assignation with her lover, is she meeting up with her man after a long business trip? Perhaps she's just really pleased with her tidy hemline* and feels it deserves a regular airing. I'll leave that up to your imagination...

I'd like to show you a couple of cool things, firstly the decor. This is the Avenue Set by Tartessos Arts. Like everything from the talented Nico Griffith, the set is beautifully made with lots of meshy goodness and a nice, healthy low land impact. Many of the items are texture changeable and, with a bedroom and living room set, can be mixed and matched to compliment any room. This is a sleek, modern set  with just a hint of retro and I thought it would look well with my upmarket hotel suite vibe. Tartessos Arts is a store I've shopped at for a while now and I find it particularly great if you're looking for low LI, affordable home decor fillers like phones, bins, kitchen bits n bats, clocks, TV's and other paraphernalia  If you haven't looked in before, I heartily recommend a visit. Oo, and Nico is the sweetest guy...

I'd also like to point out my awesome body. I'm looking pretty hot, right? This is the Wowmeh mesh body by Bit McMillan available on Marketplace. It comes without a head, so you wear your own and the whole shape, except the boobs, are fairly moddable so you can tweak the shape to your liking. The best bit? It's only L$150, which in my book is pretty cheap for a mesh body. I only stumbled across it by chance on MP when I got it into my head that I wanted to try a mesh avatar. With all the drawbacks to everyday wearing of a mesh avi (clothing, tattoo layers etc) I didn't want to spend a lot of Lindens on one so this seemed perfect. I particularly love the stomach, hips, thigh area - I think it's giving me a realistic, slender, sexy shape that can be hard to achieve with the regular SL body. It's particularly useful for photography, I guess, even if I'm not going to be wearing it for everyday use. The only negatives are that the hands and feet are a bit squiffy and the arms can get a bit deformed in certain poses. The skin texture isn't bad (though the boobs could be improved) and there are a number of skin shades and options available via a HUD along with a body alpha option to hide certain areas of the body to enable the wearing of mesh clothes. In all, I think this is a super cute mesh body for the price and a nice prop for photos.

Hi Sweeties,

Well, so much for trying to post regularly; after getting off to a good start I've been horribly lazy this past couple of weeks. That said, I've been so busy in RL I've barely logged in for over a fortnight and, when I did, I've discovered I've been missing tons of awesome events. Gonna be hitting the wallet hard in the next few days catching up on all my missed shopping, eek!
I did manage to pop over to Collabor88 and fell in love with u.f.o's cute offering. Love this round of C88, so many adorable goodies. Everything in SL has currently gone Autumn and halloween mad so I'd better get busy if I want to get some cute Halloween and Autumn inspired posts in before we all decide to be obsessed with snow and Christmas!
Still having issues taking large snaps without crashing though a clean reinstall has sorted out my texture issues a little (thanks to the lovely Madi Fray for her tip). All in all, I'm finding my SL photography experience horribly frustrating and am really hoping for a Firestorm viewer update soon. Fingers crossed.

Home and garden (summer)

Hi sweeties,

Well, I wanted to get a quick home and garden post in before I bulldoze my summer home and get set up for Autumn. But I have to apologise for the quality of the pics, the textures are a bit blurred in some of them. I've been having a whole world of weirdness with my PC recently. I use Firestorm viewer which, up until lately, I've been really happy with. I love the interface, the settings and extras and, best of all, practically zero crashing. So, I did the 'mandatory' viewer update the other day and now, not so good. My textures are blurring and refusing to rez and worst of all, I'm having EPIC crashes when I'm taking snapshots. I generally take huge snapshots, around 5000 x 3500, with settings on ultra, shadows enabled and quality on outstanding. Ok, so this slows my PC down to snails pace but I get my snapshots with only the odd crash if I'm on a busy sim. Since I updated to the new viewer I've been crashing practically every time I hit the snapshot button. I've found the only way I can take pics, on ultra with shadows, is to lower shadow quality and draw distance and take smaller snapshots. I'm really hoping a 'fixed' update comes out soon as I'm fairly certain the viewer is to blame. I actually went to all the fun of re-installing the previous viewer just to check that it wasn't something odd with my PC - snapshots worked fine on ultra with all the bells and whistles. I had to install the latest viewer, though, due to the new server side baking and all that. If anyone else is having these issues and has found a solution, I'd love to hear it! The only positive I will say is that the latest viewer has done away with those pesky lines, yay!

Anyway, needless to say taking these pics was a total nightmare and in the end I just had to run with the best I could manage, hence the blurred textures. It's a shame as I really wanted to capture the detail on some of the awesome stuff those amazing creators have been making for us. I've really enjoyed building and living in this space. I live in a skybox, and I enjoyed the challenge of building a beach scene up in the sky. I modded one of Turnip's lovely skybox terrains and plonked down Lindini2 Lane's awesome shoreline house - I'm lovin her new mesh builds. Studio Skye's building kits are always amazing and realistic, and so easy to work with, so making a sky beach was totally do-able. I have a prim (land impact) limit of 1054, not a small amount but I always struggle to realise my building ambitions within that number. Obviously, things have got so much better since the introduction of mesh and all the amazing (and low LI) stuff that is available. Still, I never quite feel I have enough 'prims' to do exactly as I'd like. But I guess that makes decorating fun and challenging, eh? Anyhoo, I'll stop waffling now and get on with the pics.
